The celebrations reached Tororo District on Saturday, May 2, where more than 1,100 residents benefited from a health camp held at Tororo Municipal Gardens.
The camp offered services including eye care, reproductive health, general treatment, maternal health, and specialized attention to sickle cell and mental health patients.
Speaking at the event, Angela Akongo Opiyo, Assistant Governor for the Eastern Area, Rotary District 9213, commended DFCU Bank for the partnership. She said the initiative primarily targeted sickle cell and mental health patients, stressing the importance of supporting these vulnerable groups.
“We appreciate DFCU for this great partnership that is giving hope to patients who are often neglected,” Opiyo said.
DFCU Tororo Branch Manager Moses Okot said 60 years of service delivery in the banking sector was a major milestone. “That is why giving back to the community is paramount for us,” he said. Okot added that the bank is also using the anniversary to promote financial literacy and help residents open bank accounts.
The health camps are being held under the “Impact Together” campaign, a joint initiative between DFCU Bank and Rotary clubs across Uganda.
