Malaba Town Council Rallies Behind Tax Collection Efforts
Malaba Town Council has called on the town clerk to take a firm stand in defending the institution by intensifying tax collection efforts. The call was made during a recent council session aimed at reinforcing the town’s revenue mobilization strategy. signpost
District Councillor Leonard Maombo emphasized the importance of adhering to legal procedures in the execution of tax collection. He advised the town clerk to consult the council solicitor when necessary to avoid potential litigation.
During council session
Speaker Julius Odie appealed to the technical team to treat tax collection with the seriousness it deserves. He urged local leaders to fulfill their role in supporting tax mobilization rather than shifting blame to the town clerk.
The isaac Omella Chief Executive in charge Malaba town council also underscored the need to handle the matter within the bounds of the law, reinforcing the council’s commitment to legal compliance.
Mugisha Andrew Orono said as council they will continue to ask the town clerk to do his work and they will not seat and allow intimidation to his officers on duty
In the same sitting, the council approved the formation of a Health Management Committee, which will be chaired by Steven Ebere and others.
