   Bernard Ochieng has been declared the new Mayor of Tororo Municipality by Caroline Kincoco, the Returning Officer. Bernard Ochieng, the NRM candidate, won  with 4844 votes, followed by Kenneth Orono Nyapidi, the independent current mayor, with 2322 votes.  Other candidates include Omaidu Robert Etatai with 1652 votes, Makakanya Alexson with 192 votes, and Okudo Andrew with 69 votes.  Ochieng has committed to working with everyone and focusing on stalled projects left by his predecessor, Orono Nyapidi 

Tororo Municipality witnessed a heartfelt tribute to Veronica Akwi, a remarkable 96-year-old matriarch, during her burial sendoff at Amagoro B.
