Amagoro Community Pays Tribute to 96-Year-Old Veronica Akwi



Tororo Municipality witnessed a heartfelt tribute to Veronica Akwi, a remarkable 96-year-old matriarch, during her burial sendoff at Amagoro B. Akwi, blessed with 12 children, 36 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, left an enduring legacy of faith, family, and community service.


Fr Pius Okumu praised Akwi's devotion, noting her daily church attendance and strong family values. He urged youths to avoid drug abuse and parents to set good examples.


Candidate Ochom Patrick Oguta just concluded parliamentary elections  commended supporters, acknowledging those who didn't vote for him and encouraging them to try again.


Ochom Simon Peter, the incumbent LCIII, sought support for continued service delivery.


David Oroni and Hon Omaidu Robert campaigned for Eastern Division representative of district and mayor of Tororo Municipality, respectively, promising improved services.


Yokim Okware, an Iteso Cultural Union elder, emphasized education's importance for children's future.

The community gathered to celebrate Akwi's life, reflecting on her dedication to family, faith, and community.
