During the centenary birth day His royal highness Moses Steven Owori of japadhola kingdom in Tororo district celebrated 100 years on Saturday 28 feb at Elgon view primary school attended by 17 kings Acholi and lango sending delegations several prominent leader and heads of government institutions aswell as his subjects
His royal Highness Moses Steven Owori commended the japadhola people for the trust and support as well as the NRM government as he confessed its prayers that have kept him and he prays for 50 more years
He commended his Excellency the president upon his victory for another term of office
He also alludes the kingdom's progress on fighting gender based violence and requested for support to be able to disseminate government policy
His royal highness made requests and reminders to the president to support education through university of science and technology for women adding they needed financial support to buy land and set infrastructure.
He also reminded the president of support towards completion of the palace which he donated some money 10 years ago adding currently the king operates in his own home as office.
He also commended government for supporting kings with means of transport but also added a request to support the prime minister's with also means of transport to boost their moral as they run the day to day kingdom affairs.
His royal Highness Moses Owori also commended the vice president for her interventions on what he termed as unprincipled misunderstandings between the japadhola and the itesots in tororo the matter was resolved by the president through her intervention by allocating a city for all ,west budama getting two districts former tororo county one district and malaba town council being elevated to a municipality status.
Hon Jacob Maxion Oboth the minister for defence and veteran affairs termed 100 years birth day celebrations not just mere achievement the king being a symbol of unity,heritage,dignity and wisdom as he said for 27 years as a symbol of unity isn't easy.
The minister of defence also commended international justice mission(IJM) for the support to tue kingdom but emphasized on as they prepare the girls for the unprepared boys its not fair, as he said boys who end up marrying empowered women may cause an imbalance let them also put a considerable approach to balance the boat for a better world by equally empowering the boy child.
Her Exellency Jesca Alupo commended cooperation unity and relationship with our neighbors Kenya whom its always represented whenever there functions in Uganda demisistifying the colonial boarders.
She termed 100 years as significant on issues raised she promised to hand them to the president and promised to always be there to deliver its responses
She commended unity as she commended the japadhola leaders for exercising maturity always and sense of responsibility.
