Teenage Girl Murdered in Pajwenda: Police Arrest Three Suspects in Ongoing Investigation
Tororo, Uganda – The Territorial Police in Tororo District are investigating a tragic case of murder that occurred on the night of December 29, 2025, in Pajwenda North Zone, Pajwenda Ward, Pajwenda Town Council.
The deceased, identified as Achieng Precious Lucy, a 17-year-old student and daughter of local businesswoman Abbo Juliet Odongo, was found dead in an incomplete house near her home. According to police, the body was discovered by her younger brother, Odell Moses Junior, who had followed her home from their mother’s hotel in Pajwenda Trading Centre.
The victim had reportedly left the hotel with two chapatis and a cup of tea around 9:00 PM. Moments later, her brother found her lying in a pool of blood and alerted their mother, who rushed to the scene. The body was found naked and lying in a supine position in an unfinished structure without doors, adjacent to their residence.
A joint team of uniformed officers, homicide detectives, canine units, and scene-of-crime officers responded promptly. The police canine tracked a scent trail that led directly to the home of one of the suspects, Tego Henry.
Three individuals have since been arrested to assist with investigations:
Tego Henry, 27, Munyole by tribe, resident of Pajwenda North Zone.
Ochieng Stephen, 40, Japadhola by tribe, businessman from Pajwenda Central A Zone.
Tingu Derrick, 22, Mugishu by tribe, bar attendant from Pajwenda Trading Centre.
The body of the deceased was transported to Tororo Main Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Preliminary findings indicate a visible injury to the forehead, though the full cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
Authorities have condemned the act in the strongest terms. “We denounce this senseless violence and are committed to ensuring that credible evidence is gathered to bring the perpetrators to justice,” said IP Mugwe J. Moses, Public Relations Officer for Bukedi South Region.
Investigations are ongoing, and police have urged the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course.
